14/ 12/ 2020
EPAM and Amazon Web Services (AWS) Academy hosted a webinar for more than 120 participants from higher education institutions across Ukraine to introduce them to the AWS Academy program. AWS Academy courses are taught by educators around the world, and universities in Ukraine will soon be delivering them as well. What is AWS Academy? AWS Academy provides higher education institutions with a free, ready-to-teach cloud computing curriculum that prepares students to pursue industry-recognized certifications and in-demand cloud jobs. All courses have easy post-secondary program integration options – they can be delivered as a separate elective course, integrated into the existing university curriculum or adapted for summer/winter courses. The fast-paced IT industry often struggles to find individuals with the knowledge and skills they need. Technology develops so rapidly, that the university curriculum is not always able to move as quickly. Institutions in Ukraine and globally can help solve this problem by integrating cloud computing curriculum into their course offerings. The role of the Program According to Linkedin data, cloud computing ranks among the top skills companies need most. Digital transformation implemented by majority of businesses requires extensive use of cloud capabilities. Maxim Pochebut, Head of EPAM education programs in Central and Eastern Europe: “Cloud specialists are highly demanded in the modern IT industry. EPAM, the leading global provider of digital platform engineering and software development services experiences such a trend. Also there is a Catch-22 of “no job – no experience, no experience – no job” the majority of young engineers get into. We try to overcome this challenge by introducing project education at our company and education programs from industry leaders, such as the AWS Academy, extend opportunities for junior specialist massively. Students graduate with the training and experience they need to land high-quality jobs in one of the fastest growing industries. Who can access the AWS Academy curriculum?
