BDO in Ukraine continues its operations. Update as of May 2022

24/ 05/ 2022
Dear friends, colleagues, partners! Thank you for continued interest in our activities and support. We would like to inform everyone that BDO in Ukraine keeps running business and is doing its best (and sometimes it even feels like impossible) to continue providing the services of exceptional quality to the clients with whom we cooperated before the war, and even with new ones, with whom we began cooperation after 24 February (here you can read our earlier post about our activities as of March). We are impressed by how brave and strong Ukrainian companies are, and people who work for them, all over our country. Our thoughts are with all those people, who are going through tough times these days. We, as the company, and our employees try do whatever it takes to help those, whom we can help. Whilst our activities in Ukraine have been forced to slow down, we are trying to find options for cooperation with other BDO Member firms around the world. Today we have the first successful projects, and we keep working in this direction. So let me share some news on how we provide exceptional client service in the current situation: our office in Kyiv is officially reopened in normal capacity since the end of April we can receive and send standard mail we started issuing audit opinions an employee has a business trip abroad for the first time since the beginning of the war several employees were promoted we moved our servers to the cloud we have launched a new educational program for junior staff we are migrating to a new CRM-system and continue intensifying cooperation with Microsoft we have published the Integrated Transparency Report for 2021 on time even though deadlines were postponed, we still prepared all annual reports on time for the regulators BDO in Ukraine experts participated in several legislative proposals. Another piece of news we would like to share with you is that we continue to develop the practice of outsourcing business services in IT. Our strong social position is that Ukrainian talents have to work for Ukrainian companies to support our countrys economy. And we contribute to it by finding jobs and employment for Ukrainian experts in the Ukrainian company. Finally, we would like to share some news about our people. We are all improving our English, mastering new skills (such as data analytics) that will be useful to be able to expand the range of our performed tasks and in order for us to be ready to work effectively to support ourselves and our countrys economy. We care about mental health. We care about the quality of communication. We support each other whatever it takes. Even a small request for help is handled in a matter of minutes in our chat. Strong support of the entire BDO network not only enabled us to survive the first difficult months of the war, but also the help that we receive from the BDO Global Response Team, CEO of EMEA region and many firms, helped us to find new options for business development and support our employees. In fact, not a single employee has been made redundant from the company during the entire war; on the contrary, we are in the process of finding new talents.  The financial situation is complicated, every “penny” accounts, every hryvnia is spent only on the most important things. But we are optimistic and hopeful about the victory and reconstruction of Ukraine! Stay with us and everything will be Ukraine! 🇺🇦 Vira Savchenko CEO, BDO in Ukraine

So let me share some news on how we provide exceptional client service in the current situation:

  • our office in Kyiv is officially reopened in normal capacity since the end of April
  • we can receive and send standard mail
  • we started issuing audit opinions
  • an employee has a business trip abroad for the first time since the beginning of the war
  • several employees were promoted

  • we are migrating to a new CRM-system and continue intensifying cooperation with Microsoft
  • we have published the Integrated Transparency Report for 2021 on time
  • even though deadlines were postponed, we still prepared all annual reports on time for the regulators
  • BDO in Ukraine experts participated in several legislative proposals.

Another piece of news we would like to share with you is that we continue to develop the practice of outsourcing business services in IT. Our strong social position is that Ukrainian talents have to work for Ukrainian companies to support our country’s economy. And we contribute to it by finding jobs and employment for Ukrainian experts in the Ukrainian company.

Finally, we would like to share some news about our people.

We are all improving our English, mastering new skills (such as data analytics) that will be useful to be able to expand the range of our performed tasks and in order for us to be ready to work effectively to support ourselves and our country’s economy. We care about mental health. We care about the quality of communication. We support each other whatever it takes. Even a small request for help is handled in a matter of minutes in our chat.

The financial situation is complicated, every “penny” accounts, every hryvnia is spent only on the most important things. But we are optimistic and hopeful about the victory and reconstruction of Ukraine!

Stay with us and everything will be Ukraine! 🇺🇦
