BDO in Ukraine is independent auditor for Eurovision 2024 for the second year in a row
Over the weekend of February 3 and 4 became a real big day for Ukrainians, causing lots of positive emotions all over the country. Over 400,000 viewers watched the live broadcast to choose who will represent Ukraine at the Eurovision 2024 Song Contest in Malmö, Sweden. The passion and unity with which Ukrainians supported their favorites led to unforeseen technical troubles when even the Diia app crashed due to system overload — more than 24 thousand login requests per second.
It is the second year in a row when Ukrainians can determine the winner of the Eurovision National Selection by voting through Diia, and the second year in a row that BDO Ukraine has proven itself as an independent auditor, ensuring the transparency and integrity of the vote count.
How voting for Eurovision 2024 took place
This year, participants’ enthusiastic support has overloaded the system to the point that the Diia app temporarily shut down. In response, the contest hosts, Suspilne TV channel and 1+1 Production, decided to extend the voting for one day more so that everyone could vote. In total, more than 1.1 million Ukrainians voted, which is 1 million more than last year.
Even though there were technical difficulties, the participants and hosts shared the atmosphere of celebration and excitement throughout the three days. Vladyslav Pugach, representative and auditor of BDO in Ukraine, being present during the recording of the concert and live broadcast, once again demonstrated his role in ensuring the integrity of the voting.
Verification and accuracy of vote count for Eurovision 2024 by BDO in Ukraine
The credibility and trust in BDO in Ukraine as an independent auditor emphasize the high quality of the company’s activities and its contribution to the national selection.
Based on the results of the voting, Alyona Alyona and Jerry Heil with the song “Teresa & Maria” won and will represent Ukraine in Malmö.
This song victory has become both an important step for the singers and a demonstration to the international audience of the unwavering spirit of Ukrainians, which is evident even during the Eurovision Song Contest voting, when Internet services cannot withstand our active influence, showing our will and resilience.
We wish Alyona Alyona and Jerry Heil a great win at the Eurovision, and we wish all Ukrainians and the Armed Forces victory to be won on the battlefield.
