Baker McKenzie acted as lead legal counsel to MHP SE on the acquisition of Perutnina Ptuj, the largest poultry meat producer in Southeast Europe

  Kyiv, Ukraine, 26 February 2019. The Kyiv office of Baker McKenzie acted as lead legal counsel to MHP SE, a leading international agro-industrial group, on its acquisition of Perutnina Ptuj, international meat-processing company and the largest producer of poultry meat and poultry meat products in Southeast Europe. This is the first acquisition of its kind in Europe for MHP and it confirms MHP as Europe’s fastest-growing poultry producer.   Baker McKenzies team was led by Viacheslav Yakymchuk, Partner in the Baker McKenzies Kyiv office with key input from London-based senior corporate associate Robert Gray and corporate associate Alyona Furda in the Kyiv office of Baker McKenzie. The team also included antitrust and competition associate Anita Lukaschek in Vienna and corporate associate Olena Serpukhovitina in Kyiv. ODI, an independent corporate law firm in South East Europe, acted as MHPs counsel in Slovenia, Serbia, Croatia and Macedonia.   Commenting on the deal, Viacheslav Yakymchuk said “We are happy to advise our client MHP on its very first significant deal in Europe.
