Asters Announces Promotions To Counsels
Effective from 1 January 2022 Asters’ Senior Associates Marta Halabala (Energy & Resources), Pavlo Verbolyuk (Competition & Antitrust), Oleksandr Khomenko, Anna Gnyp and Maksym Tereshchuk (Banking, Finance & Capital Markets, Corporate and M&A) have been promoted to Counsels.
Marta Halabala has 12 years of experience in advising energy companies, developers, foreign and local investors on various corporate, regulatory, contractual, transactional, and industry-related legal issues, including sustainable energy transition, the European Green Deal, projects in the field of hydrogen and other alternative fuels. She takes an active part in legislation improving initiatives as a member of professional and business associations and contributes to adapting the Ukrainian legislation to the EU standards. Best Lawyers 2022 recommends her in Oil & Gas Law.
Pavlo Verbolyuk joined Asters as a Junior Associate in 2011. He gained extensive experience in advising international and Ukrainian clients on competition and antitrust law issues, including merger control clearance, concerted actions, compliance, and issues related to AMC’s investigations.
Anna Gnyp has over 15 years of experience in advising corporate clients on a wide range of issues related to investment projects, doing business, structuring transactions, corporate and M&A project support, and operations planning. Anna also specializes in the resolution of non-standard disputes in courts, international commercial arbitration, and pre-trial dispute resolution. She has recently advised international clients in various aviation projects.
Oleksandr Khomenko has 10 years of experience in advising international financial institutions, private investors, international corporations, and venture capital funds on the matters of corporate law and M&A, private equity, venture capital, banking and finance, cross-border and local investments, corporate restructurings, and raising capital. He has recently advised the world’s largest online gambling companies on matters related to the launch of Ukrainian gambling market. The Legal500 EMEA 2021 recommends Oleksandr in Commercial, Corporate and M&A.
Maksym Tereshchuk has 7 years of experience in advising clients on M&A and corporate restructurings, corporate and commercial law, and cross-border banking and finance. Maksym is a licenced attorney-at-law and provides legal assistance to international corporations, Ukrainian businesses and foreign investors operating in infrastructure, transport, energy, and finance sectors.
