ArtAsters presents Ivan Marchuk’s Hear Our Voice exhibition

20/ 02/ 2020
On 18 February 2020 Asters jointly with the U.S.-Ukraine Business Council (USUBC) held a reception within its ArtAsters project presenting the exhibition of artworks by Ivan Marchuk, one of the most prominent Ukrainian painters with a top-notch international reputation. Born in 1936, Ivan Marchuk is the legend of Ukrainian art, an inventor of a unique painting style. He is the only Ukrainian artist recognized by International Academy of Modern Art in Rome as a member of the “Golden Guild”. In 2007 The Daily Telegraph included Ivan Marchuk in the top 100 living geniuses of our time. At the ArtAsters opening ceremony Ivan Marchuk said: “I am glad that after numerous exhibitions abroad this collection of my artworks returned home, and we immediately found a very appropriate place for the exhibition here in the heart of Kyiv. I am grateful to Asters and USUBC for an opportunity to share my vision of the world with the guests of this exhibition. Asters Senior Partner Armen Khachaturyan commented:  It is a high honor for ArtAsters to present an exquisite set of masterpieces created by an outstanding Maestro. Hear Our Voice consists of 45 crème de la crème of Ivan Marchuks artworks shown to the public in many European capitals over recent years and now returned home. The magic of Marchuk’s artworks is in his innovative “pliontanism” style of brushing the paint on canvas - a combination of persistent skill and divine vision.  Marchuk has added great value to Ukrainian art and its international recognition and we are happy to share this value in ArtAsters. Morgan Williams, USUBCs President, indicated that USUBC is proud to have supported the ArtAsters program for more than 10 years.  During these 10 years ArtAsters/USUBC art exhibitions have presented Ukrainian culture to USUBC members and to the broader business community. This exhibition is a superb example of such an accomplishment. Ivan Marchuks style is impossible to copy. It is a precious contribution to the world’s art heritage and Ukraine’s valuable instrument of art diplomacy. Today we all are happy to become a part of it”. The event was traditionally held in Asters office with two hundred attending guests, including business managers, governmental officers, journalists, diplomats, and public figures. *** ArtAsters is a non-profit project of Asters aimed at popularization of Ukrainian art. Launched in 2009, the project is designed to benefit Ukrainian artists and create additional opportunities for them to display their works in a gallery-like office space for viewing by Asters lawyers, clients, and guests. The U.S.-Ukraine Business Council (USUBC) is a private, non-profit trade association representing the interests of the U.S. businesses active in Ukraine and Ukraine businesses active or somehow connected to the U.S. markets. USUBC is headquartered in Washington, DC. With over 200 members, USUBC is the largest business association for Ukraine which is not based in Ukraine. USUBC has been promoting Ukraine as a place to do business since 1995.
