Aequo is among the Top 30 Most Innovative Law Firms in Europe, according to Financial Times Innovative Lawyers 2020

08/ 10/ 2020
Aequo is the only Ukrainian firm that has been recognized in FT Top 30 law firms, according to the recently published Financial Times (FT) Innovative Lawyers Europe Report. The Report presents a selection of the most innovative law firms in Europe, which are in particular “notable for having well established multidisciplinary teams created to encourage change, innovation and use of technology — internally and for clients”. Apart from innovation and technology dedication, the Report also noted that all the listed firms have intensified their efforts on inclusion and sustainability. FT Top 30 includes Allen & Overy, Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, Linklaters, Slaughter and May, Pinsent Masons, Hogan Lovells, White & Case, to name the few. While Aequo has been recommended by the ranking for the 6th consecutive year, FT Innovative Lawyers 2020 Report underlines its “strategic aim to stay ahead of clients’ tech needs”. Anna Babych, a partner, commented: I would like to thank each member of our team for their hard work and dedication, our clients for their trust when we pushed the limits driving innovations in legal matters and RSG Consulting for boosting innovation in the legal sector and in fact helping it to get ready for the new normal. The Covid-19 pandemic pushed everything online. This is a critical turning point between the “time before”, when innovation was optional, to the “time after”, when innovation fuels business resilience and is crucial for responding quickly to market challenges and opportunities.” The FT Innovative Lawyers Report has become one of the top legal rankings in Europe and the accompanying awards are widely regarded as the best researched in the market. It represents a unique analysis of the legal industry, assessing lawyers on their innovation both for clients and in their own businesses. Over the past decade, the Report has assessed legal innovation in over 50 different countries from over 500 unique law firms and over 550 company in-house legal departments. 2020 marks the 15th year that the Financial Times has published its Special Report on innovation in the European legal industry. It also marks an unprecedented year of change for the industry, propelled by Covid-19 and the Black Lives Matter movement. This unusual year also drove the FT and its long-term research partner, RSG Consulting, to take a new approach to the research, rankings, and editorial in the Report by focusing less on category rankings and individual awards to dissect ever more closely the big trends that are changing the industry. About the firm AEQUO is an advanced industry-focused Ukrainian law firm made up of highly qualified, internationally recommended lawyers who work proactively to help their clients reach their business goals. Backed up by solid industry expertise and a thorough understanding of business we develop innovative strategies and provide efficient solutions to the most complex and challenging matters.
