Agrochemicals

25/ 04/ 2013
On 3 April 2013, after a three-month break, the Scientific and Expert Panel for State Registration of Crop Protection Products under the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Ukraine resumed its work.  Background: The Scientific and Expert Panel for State Registration of Crop Protection Products under the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Ukraine holds its meetings on a regular basis to ensure smooth and timely market authorisation of adequate quality crop protection products in Ukraine. However, at the beginning of 2013 there was a break in the work of the Panel, which created certain tension among agrochemical sector players given the peak season of application of crop protection products. The only sitting of the Panel took place on January 3, 2013. Afterwards, for the next three months there were no sittings held for no obvious reasons, which caused delays with the market authorisation of crop protection products in violation of the legislatively established term of 90 days. On April 3, 2013, following the requests of the European Business Association, the Panel resumed its work to the complete satisfaction of the agrochemical business. We would like to extend our thanks to the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Ukraine for their efficient cooperation, and are happy to share this success with our members.
