  The Government allowed grain fumigation both within and outside the customs territory of Ukraine The grain business welcomes the amendments recently approved by the Government to CMU Resolution No. 398 on Some issues of implementation of phytosanitary measures and procedures under martial law dated April 1, 2022. The amendments allow the fumigation of cargoes with regulated objects exported under the Initiative for Safe Transportation of Grain and Food Products from Ukrainian ports to be carried out both within and outside the customs territory of Ukraine. These amendments will contribute to simplifying the registration of grain cargo transportation which, in turn, will let our state continuously ensure the world with food, and the economy with foreign exchange earnings. For reference: Fumigation is a special method of pest control. Unblocking the ports of Odesa for the grain corridor is a great economic victory for Ukraine. More than 130 ships have already used this route to export more than 3 million tons of agricultural products to countries in Africa, Asia, and Europe. The initiative for the safe transportation of grain and food products from Ukrainian ports was signed in accordance with CMU Order No. 626 On the delegation of the Government of Ukraine to participate in multilateral negotiations on the preparation and coordination of the project of the Initiative for Safe Transportation of Grain and Food Products from Ukrainian ports dated July 22, 2022.
