The EBA received draft Resolution on Amendments to Technical Regulations on limitation of usage hazard substances in consumer electronics (CE) that had been elaborated by the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine after the recent meeting with the EBA Consumer Electronics Committee (13 November).
In particular, business representatives paid attention of the Ministry to the fact that EU was discussing necessity to postpone prohibition to use certain substances in CE that will enter into force in Ukraine from the beginning of 2018. The EBA Consumer Electronics Committee stressed that we were against situation when requirements for CE in Ukraine are stricter then in EU such as this could lead to stopping of import.
Thus, the draft Resolution proposes to postpone the date of entrance of new restrictions until adoption of additional decision by the Government that will indicate the exact date.
We are grateful to the Ministry for taking into account our proposals and hope for further constructive cooperation in harmonisation of Ukrainian technical regulations in accordance with the EU Directives.
