The Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine has taken into account the majority of the comments provided by the European Business Association in their proposals for the second reading of Bill 5431, which were presented during the recent meeting on July 20. It should be noted that Bill 5431 initially envisaged significant expansion of the powers of the Antimonopoly Committee when conducting inspections of individuals and legal entities. The experts of the Association offered a series of remarks to the draft law, most of which were supported by the Antimonopoly Committee, including the need to exclude provisions that would allow the Committee to conduct inspections at any time of the day, inspect the residences of individuals, independently determine the priority of cases, and not consider non-priority cases, etc. We hope that these proposals will also be taken into account by the Members of Parliament during the consideration of the draft law in the second reading.
