Health Care

03/ 10/ 2019
Progress of European Business Association Requirements to the medical services shall include infection control programme             European Business Association (EBA) is pleased to inform that the National Health Service of Ukraine (NHSU) included the availability of an infection control programme as a must for the requirements to the medical services[1] planned to be provided within the Guaranteed Package in 2020. It will help to ensure safety conditions for medical services’ provision to patients in health care institutions to be contracted by NHSU.             In July 2019 EBA Health Care Committee experts joined the discussion of the first draft requirements published by NHSU for review and consultations and looked into the WHO recommendations on infection control during medical services’ provision. The fact of recommendations was caused by the high prevalence of health care-associated infections, especially in low- and middle-income countries[2].             According to the new draft requirements developed for health care institutions, the availability of infection control programme and measures to prevent the health care-associated infections should become mandatory for primary, secondary (specialized) and tertiary (highly specialized) medical services, as well as for palliative care and rehabilitation. Association supports NHSU’s steps outlined above and is looking forward to further effective cooperation in favour of developing the medical services’ system in Ukraine.
