The EBA continues to emphasize the importance of harmonizing the sphere of technical regulations in Ukraine in accordance with the EU legislation. In particular, the EBA members drew the attention of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine to the introduction of new dates of entering into force of some limitations on usage of hazard substances in the European Union and asked the Ministry to adopt the relevant changes into the Ukrainian legislation. As a result, the Ministry has published an additional draft Resolution with amendments to the Technical Regulations on limitation of usage of hazard substances in consumer electronics that was elaborated in close cooperation with the EBA Consumer Electronics Committee.

We believe that harmonization of the technical regulations system in accordance with the EU regulations will allow Ukraine to sign the ACAA agreement on mutual recognition of conformity assessment procedures and therefore contribute to the trade growth.

We are grateful to the Ministry for publication of this draft Resolution and hope for its adoption in the nearest future.
