Dnipro Legal issues

21/ 04/ 2026
EBA Dnipro held a webinar focused on the military registration of women in Ukraine. The event marked the launch of the Dnipro Office Legal Committee, chaired by Polina Marchenko, who provided comprehensive clarifications on current legislation, its practical application, and employer responsibilities. The webinar detailed current normative approaches to military registration. Notably, while the mobilization of women during martial law remains entirely voluntary, mandatory military registration applies specifically to women with medical and pharmaceutical backgrounds. Also Polina Marchenko debunked common myths regarding the automatic registration of all women and potential rights restrictions. Currently, Ukrainian law does not impose any travel restrictions on women who are registered for military service. Special attention was given to the Reserve+ app as a tool for verifying registration status. The discussion covered the necessary steps to take in cases of erroneous or unlawful registration, including: ✔ Submitting written inquiries to Territorial Recruitment and Social Support Centers (TCC & SS) to clarify the grounds for inclusion in the registry. ✔ Pursuing judicial appeals if a proper response is not provided. Participants were also briefed on the requirement to update registration data following a change in specialty or place of residence. For cases where registration could not be completed due to technical or organizational issues, experts emphasized the importance of maintaining documentation of these attempts. Employers are required to maintain military records for their staff and must formally notify employees in relevant specialties of their registration obligations. Compliance in this area is essential to minimize the risk of fines and ensure adherence to national defense policies. Moving forward, the EBA Dnipro Legal Committee will serve as a permanent platform for discussing legislative updates and practical challenges affecting business operations.
