  Yesterday, February 24, the EBA representatives had the first meeting of this year with the Head of the State Customs Service – Mr. Pavlo Ryabikin to discuss opportunities for improving business interaction with customs authorities. During the meeting, the business community agreed to prepare guidelines for determining the customs value for the introduction of a sustainable approach and equal rules of games in different regions of Ukraine. The participants of the meeting also had the opportunity to get acquainted with the Deputy Heads of the State Customs Service and the areas for which they are responsible to directly address appeals on frequent issues that the business encounter at the customs. The priority issues for business now are the AEO, the new transit system, customs, and tariff regulation, etc. The discussion also touched upon the simplification of customs procedures in sea and river ports. Amendments to four normative documents have already been prepared and submitted to the State Customs Service and the Ministry of Finance. We hope for effective cooperation between government agencies and businesses in the rapid implementation of long-awaited changes in the operational activities of customs. We were also pleased to agree on further cooperation to establish an effective dialogue between the EBA members and the State Customs Service. Thank all the participants for a productive meeting!
