EBA and UKRSIBBANK hold the first event of the “Sustainable Business Development in Times of Uncertainty” initiative

16/ 10/ 2026
On 13 October, the first event under the educational initiative “Sustainable Business Development in Times of Uncertainty”, implemented by the European Business Association and UKRSIBBANK BNP Paribas Group, took place in Kharkiv. The event brought together representatives of small and medium-sized businesses. The programme covered two topics of particular relevance to entrepreneurs: using artificial intelligence to improve the efficiency of day-to-day operations and managing tax risks associated with business structures. Volodymyr Teteruk, Founder of AI Assistant Agency, explained how entrepreneurs can use artificial intelligence tools to optimise their workflows. He outlined three levels of AI adoption: using chatbots to prepare drafts and explore solutions; integrating tools with email, files and calendars; and automating processes that require only subsequent monitoring. Volodymyr also shared practical applications of AI across four areas of everyday work: content creation, document processing, meeting management and knowledge management. Participants were also introduced to the capabilities of various large language models and tools, including Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini and Fireflies. Nataliia Nykonchuk, Lawyer and Head of the Business Protection and Support Practice at Donets and Partners Attorneys’ Association, focused on business structuring and tax risk assessment. The key takeaway was that the number of individual entrepreneurs (FOPs) in itself does not constitute evidence of a violation or a business fragmentation scheme. Assessing a situation requires an analysis of the actual relationships between the parties, the economic substance of transactions and all available evidence taken together. The speaker outlined key risk indicators and emphasised three principles of a legally robust business: genuine business transactions, the independence of the parties involved and a sound evidential basis. The event provided a platform for discussing practical tools that help small and medium-sized businesses improve operational efficiency, navigate tax requirements more effectively and strengthen business resilience in times of uncertainty. The Association thanks the speakers for their insights and all participants for their active engagement. Keep an eye out for announcements of upcoming events in the initiative.
