INGO Paid UAH 105.9 Million in Insurance Indemnity to a Mineral Water Producer Following a Fire at Its Plant

03/ 06/ 2026
Kyiv, May 22, 2026 – INGO Insurance Company has fully completed the settlement of one of the largest industrial losses in its portfolio, resulting from a large-scale fire at a manufacturing plant. The company paid insurance indemnity in the amount of UAH 105.9 million to a producer of mineral water and soft drinks. According to the findings of experts from the State Emergency Service, the fire was caused by a critical overload of the electrical power system. The total area affected by the fire was approximately 2,500 square meters. As a result of the incident, structural elements of the production and warehouse facilities were damaged, along with a significant portion of the companys manufacturing equipment. In particular, the fire damaged automated soft drink bottling lines, PET bottle filling and capping equipment, an automated syrup preparation unit, packaging equipment, and other production systems. In total, more than 80 pieces of equipment were damaged or destroyed. “Industrial losses of this nature are among the most complex in property insurance, and their adjustment and settlement require a considerable amount of time. In this case, the loss involved not only damage to buildings but also more than 80 units of specialized production equipment, some of which required separate technical assessments, evaluation of repair feasibility, and determination of replacement costs. In practice, each production system had to be analyzed individually,” commented Oleksandr Kolpakov, Head of the Property Loss Adjustment Department at INGO Insurance Company. The enterprise was insured under a property insurance policy covering buildings, structures, and production equipment. Of the total indemnity amount, UAH 44.5 million related to damage to buildings, while a further UAH 61.4 million was paid in respect of damaged and destroyed equipment. It should be noted that in 2025, INGO paid more than UAH 2.2 billion in insurance indemnities across various lines of business.
