Netherlands-Ukraine Business Forum & Company Visits

05/ 05/ 2026
On March 30–31, 2026, the Netherlands–Ukraine Business Forum & Company Visits took place in Breda, the Netherlands, dedicated to strengthening partnerships between Ukraine and the Netherlands in the recovery and economic reconstruction of Ukraine. The event was held under the slogan: “Ukraine–Netherlands partnership for recovery: exploring business and investment opportunities in Ukraine.” In total, 92 companies participated in the forum — 49 from the Netherlands and 43 from Ukraine, including Oleksandr Laktionov, Head of International Partnership Cooperation at Helios Strategia. The event proved to be large-scale and intensive: over the course of two days, representatives of government institutions from Ukraine and the Netherlands worked in parallel with the business summit, while businesses participated in an active program of meetings, panel discussions, and visits to production facilities. Day One: Business Summit and B2B Meetings The first day focused on discussing investment opportunities and practical aspects of cooperation between Ukrainian and Dutch businesses. During the panel discussion, the experience, implemented projects, and market position of Helios Strategia in Ukraine’s renewable energy sector were presented. A call was also made to Dutch businesses to invest in Ukraine’s recovery already today, without waiting for the end of the war. As an example, the company’s achievements were highlighted: over the past four years, Helios Strategia has implemented 33 solar power plant projects in Ukraine with a total capacity of more than 60 MW, investing over €20 million. A separate part of the program consisted of B2B meetings with Dutch companies, during which the following topics were discussed: possible financing mechanisms for projects in Ukraine; innovative technologies for electrical and thermal energy storage; equipment for solar energy projects already used in Ukraine. Despite the fact that some technological solutions remain relatively expensive for the Ukrainian market, the Dutch side demonstrated a willingness to explore mutually beneficial forms of cooperation and mechanisms to support investment projects. As part of the forum, Sjoerd Sjoerdsma, Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, and Taras Kachka, Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration, reviewed the current status of one of Helios Strategia’s projects — Helios Luchki, which is currently at the final stage of implementation. New prospective projects were also discussed, along with opportunities to align the interests of the Netherlands with Ukraine’s needs through government programs supporting cooperation and project financing. Day Two: Visits to Innovative Enterprises The second day of the event was dedicated to visiting the production facilities of innovative Dutch companies. Forum participants visited QuinteQ Energy Storage, where the concept of an innovative energy storage system designed to cover peak electricity demand in the grid was presented. The company is already implementing a pilot project in Ukraine and is currently exploring opportunities for scaling it up. Participants also visited VDL, one of the largest industrial multi-sector companies in the Netherlands. The company is actively exploring opportunities to launch pilot projects in Ukraine with the potential for further large-scale investment initiatives. Innovation, willingness to cooperate, and the search for effective financing mechanisms for projects in Ukraine with the support of the Dutch government were key themes throughout the two-day forum. The forum confirmed the strong interest of international businesses in cooperating with Ukraine and participating in projects aimed at restoring the country’s energy infrastructure. We continue moving forward in strengthening partnerships that contribute to Ukraine’s recovery and development.
