The Regional Tripartite Socio-Economic Council meeting

10/ 10/ 2025
Vocational education and employment remain among the key priorities for the Southern region of Ukraine. Amid the ongoing war, businesses face a shortage of skilled workers, educational institutions need to update their training programs to meet labor market demands, and employment services are seeing growing demand for retraining among the unemployed, internally displaced persons, and veterans. On October 8, 2025, the Regional Tripartite Socio-Economic Council meeting was held at the Odesa Regional State Administration, focusing on the development of the vocational education and employment system. The meeting brought together representatives of government authorities, businesses, and educational institutions. The European Business Association (EBA) was represented by Kateryna Morozova, Head of the EBA Southern Ukrainian Office. During the meeting, participants discussed ways to improve vocational education, develop training programs for the unemployed, and support internally displaced persons and veterans in finding employment and acquiring new skills. Significant attention was devoted to the quality of educational programs, aligning workforce training with employer needs, and strengthening cooperation between educational institutions, employment centers, and businesses. For the European Business Association, these issues are central to the country’s economic recovery. The Association actively supports partnerships between businesses and educational institutions, develops initiatives for veterans - particularly in the areas of internships, mentorship, and retraining - and conducts analytical work on business and labor market needs in frontline regions. Such meetings help coordinate efforts between government, business, and the education sector, fostering joint approaches to workforce training essential for post-war economic recovery. The European Business Association remains open to participating in practical solutions and partnerships that create new opportunities for employment, learning, and veteran support in Southern Ukraine.
