02/ 10/ 2025
On 30 September, member companies of the European Business Association met with the team of the State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection (SSUFSCP) to discuss the digital transformation of the Service. The meeting with business representatives included Ihor Lotskin, Director of the Department of Food Safety and Veterinary Medicine, and Solomiia Starosolska, Advisor to the Head and the Head of the Digitalization Office of the SSUFSCP. The SSUFSCP team emphasised that the goal of digitalisation is to create a safe product market through compliance with high-quality standards and effective monitoring of epidemiological welfare. This aims to protect consumers while also supporting the globalisation of business. The transformation’s objectives are: safety for citizens, simplicity for business, efficiency for civil servants, and international recognition. A key target is the creation of a Unified State Electronic System for the SSUFSCP, alongside the eFood system, which will integrate 17 existing registries. As part of the Unified State Electronic System, the following are planned: Digital portal and e-cabinet Market operator card Regional attractiveness map eFood system Inspector mobile application Other systems and modules In particular, eFood will serve as a comprehensive system combining 17 registries related to food export and import operations. Publicly available information will include international cooperation details — open markets, countries under negotiation, and requirements for product export. State registration of facilities will also move online: instead of four separate forms, there will be a single application, and the registration process will occur in real time instead of the current ten calendar days. Additionally, five registries will be merged into one, online service payments will be possible, and inspectors will be automatically assigned. The implementation of the first stage of digitalisation, covering nine services, is planned for August 2026. The European Business Association continues its productive cooperation with the SSUFSCP and monitors all key updates relevant to business operations. The EBA supports the Service’s efforts to enhance digital services for businesses.
