04/ 09/ 2025
On 1 September, the Law of Ukraine “On Lobbying” came into force, a significant step in shaping transparent, European-style rules for interaction between business and government. Just two days later, on 3 September, the first meeting of the EBA Lobbying and Transparent Policies Committee took place under the new framework. During the meeting, member companies shared their experience regarding: 🔹 registration in the Transparency Register, 🔹 preparing draft reports on meetings with lobbying targets, 🔹 analysing legislative changes and the potential postponement of sanctions. In addition, the Committee summarised the key results of its work over the past year — from contributing to the drafting of legislation and launching the Transparency Register to close cooperation with the NACP and Parliament. Participants also outlined strategic objectives for the future, including: ✔️ promoting necessary legislative changes, ✔️ supporting businesses in adapting to the new law’s requirements, ✔️ regular engagement with the NACP to develop clarifications, ✔️ strengthening the Committee’s role as a knowledge hub on lobbying, ✔️ shaping a positive perception of lobbying in Ukraine. 👉 To support companies during the transition period, Committee experts have prepared practical recommendations for businesses on complying with the Law. These are available via the link. We invite companies eager to actively implement transparent, European practices of engagement with public authorities to join our community!
