Online briefing event on the subject of Critical Raw Materials (CRMs)

10/ 04/ 2024
Dear Sir/Madam, We are delighted to invite you to a private online briefing event on the subject of critical raw materials (CRMs) on Thursday 30 May, 18:00-19:00 CET / 19:00-20:00 EET on Zoom. The briefing will consider the recent EU Critical Raw Materials Act and the funding avenues available to firms looking to invest in this area. There will also be a section of the event focusing on the implications for Ukraine given that the recent Ukraine Facility Plan has included critical raw materials among its priority growth areas. The principal speaker will be the former international trade agreement negotiator, Francisco Mango, who is now a Policy Associate at 89 Global, with expertise on critical raw materials in the EU. The other participants in the event will be high level academics and some policy makers. We would like to invite all relevant members of the EBA to attend this online event. We believe the event topic could be interesting due to the importance of CRMs in the reconstruction of Ukraine. Critical raw materials are hugely important in technological and military production, yet the EU has a major shortage of these assets. Ukraine produces over 50% of global supplies of neon, a key CRM, and is therefore highly relevant to this debate. Time: Thursday, 30 May, 17:00-18:00 BST / 18:00-19:00 CET Location: Zoom Principal speaker: Francisco Mango, Policy Associate, 89 Global Moderator: Dr Michael Cottakis, CEO, 89 Global Should you wish to reserve your place at this event, please write to Vlastislav Stavinoha, on [email protected] A limited number of places are available for this private event.
