The Procedure for a state assessment of medical technologies has been approved

28/ 12/ 2020
The European Business Association informs that the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine adopted the resolution №1300 On approval of the Procedure for state assessment of medical technologies of 23 December 2020. The adopted decision is an important stage in the further development of the institutional capacity of the medical technology assessment system (MTA), which aims to determine the best treatment in terms of clinical efficacy and safety with the help of scientifically sound methods during such assessment. In addition, the use of MTA ensures the rational use of state budget funds in the field of health care. The introduction of MTA will bring positive consequences in the health care system decision-making for patients in Ukraine which include increased availability and effectiveness of treatment, increased patient life expectancy and its quality. The EBA Health Care Committee thanks Ihor Ivashchenko, Deputy Minister of Health of Ukraine, representatives of the MoH Directorates of Medical Services and Pharmaceuticals, the Department of MTA of the MoH State Expert Center for their active and persistent work in this direction. It is, undoubtedly, one of the most effective modern approaches to setting priorities in treatment and appropriate management decisions that will positively affect the investment image of the country and will provide a transparent mechanism for control and use of funds and the use of quality medicines. We hope that the resolution will be a driving force for the introduction of other effective tools to ensure access to treatment, such as MEAs (Managed entry agreements), as well as unblocking the update of the National List of Essential Medicines.   Be the first to learn about the latest EBA news with our Telegram-channel – EBAUkraine.
