Extended meeting of the Coordination Council with the participation of the Chairmen of the Committees of the EBA South Ukrainian Office

  On July 3, 2025, an extended meeting of the Coordination Council was held with the participation of the heads of committees of the Southern Ukrainian Office of the European Business Association.  Kateryna Morozova, Head of the Southern Ukrainian Office of the Association, presented the results of the implementation of key goals set at the beginning of 2025. Among the main achievements were active advocacy for the introduction of transparent and effective criteria for employee reservation, regular and constructive cooperation with the regional military administrations of Odesa, Mykolaiv, and Kherson regions, support for businesses affected by the war, as well as maintaining a stable dialogue with tax and customs authorities to promptly address critical issues.  Updated priorities and challenges for the second half of 2025:  Development of business security competencies, which involves systematic efforts to raise awareness and preparedness of companies for emergency situations. Meetings have already been held on business cybersecurity and personal safety of employees, including response protocols during air raids, explosions, and shelling. This area will remain one of the key components of a comprehensive approach to business safety in the region.  Expansion of financial instruments, including loan programs, grants, and compensation schemes aimed at supporting businesses, especially in war-affected areas.  Adaptation of business HR policies to the conditions of the wartime economy, including employee retraining and preservation of key competencies to ensure enterprise stability.  Optimization of logistics processes and improvement of border infrastructure, with a focus on simplifying access to the ports of the Odesa region, Mykolaiv, and Kherson to ensure uninterrupted export and import operations.  Strengthening coordination and communication within the regional business community, in particular through industry events, thematic discussions, and working groups that promote effective knowledge sharing and the development of joint solutions.  The meeting concluded with a shared vision of the next steps focused on ensuring stable business operations during wartime, rapid risk response, and the implementation of practical solutions in cooperation with the authorities.
