EBA Odesa Psychology in Effect: “How not to drown the emotions of colleagues, relatives and your own”

  Everyone is used to oppose emotions and intellect. However, in reality, they are interconnected, intertwined and closely interacted with each other. And the success of this interaction directly affects the success of human in many areas of life! On June 3, 2020, during the online discussion within the framework of the EBA Odesa Psychology in Effect project, we decided to understand our own emotions. Together with the expert and speaker of the meeting, business psychologist and psychotherapist, Natalia Yurganova, talked about the difference between emotions and feelings, the labeling of emotions (feelings), the scale of emotional tones. They also learned to identify the needs behind the manifestation of emotion and in practice explored the level of development of their own EQ. Yes, there are five components to emotional intelligence: An emotionally mature person understands his strengths and knows how to use them for his own development. Moreover, this quality makes it easier to deal with criticism. Self-regulation. Gives the opportunity to restrain and control their feelings (emotions) according to the situation. A person with a high level of EQ can ecologically express his/her emotions in a healthy way, controlling and restraining them. Healthy self-motivation can contribute to a better response to life failures and disappointments, helps to treat them with optimism and resilience. Recent business research suggests that people with greater empathy demonstrate stronger leadership. Social skills. A person with well-developed social skills likes to be among people and enjoys communication, which allows them to feel happier and more confident. So, develop your emotional awareness, live your emotions environmentally and learn to understand other peoples emotions. Do not be afraid to look into your own world of feelings, because only in such a way you can you discover new opportunities and enter the resource state when it is needed in accordance with your life goals.
