LCF Law Group calls on the business community to join the charity project “ROOF”

27/ 10/ 2022
Today, Ukrainian business keeps its front: it pays taxes and salaries, takes care of employees and their families, supports volunteer initiatives, and helps restore Ukraines housing infrastructure. LCF Law Group provided financial aid for the reconstruction of a 140-apartment building located in Irpin, 42, Davydchuka Str. This apartment building is the first object of the charity project ROOF aimed at the reconstruction of houses destroyed by the war. It was built in 2016 and became home to many displaced people from Luhansk and Donetsk regions, as well as Crimea, who ran away from the war in 2014. In total, more than 300 people lived in this apartment building. More than 60 of them are children. In March, the russians fired that building with incendiary shells. As a result, the roof and the upper, fifth, floor were completely burned. The fire spread to the apartments below. Some were completely destroyed by fire, others suffered less. Stuff that the fire did not take, the Russians stole. After the fire was extinguished, they broke the doors of the apartments and robbed valuables. After the de-occupation, the habitants dismantled the burned remains of the roof, cleaned up the apartments, and washed the stairs. Only 30 habitants of the house remained in their apartments. The rest of them rent flats or find shelter with their friends or relatives. But they try to be closer to their home. They take an active part in organizational issues related to reconstruction, they come almost every day to see the progress of the works. After removing the ashes, residents covered the house with a temporary tarpaulin covering. And then they immediately began gathering funds for the construction of a permanent roof. Through their efforts, giving the last money, they managed to collect UAH 2.2 million. This was enough to start the construction. However, according to builders estimations, only the construction of a permanent roof requires UAH 6 million. It is critical to install a new roof before frost. So, the habitants of the building need financial support. Therefore, LCF Law Group calls on the public and the business community to join the charity project ROOF and provide monetary assistance for reconstruction.
