Business welcomes the possibility of making short-term business trips abroad

20/ 08/ 2022
The Ministry of Economy of Ukraine and the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine have developed an experimental project eTrip (“єВідрядження” in Ukrainian) which provides that entrepreneurs can make short-term business trips abroad starting September 1. Legal entities and natural persons-entrepreneurs who meet the following criteria will be able to use eTrip: Tax returns submitted on time; No arrears for payment of the single social contribution; Average salary in the organization is at least UAH 20,000; No more than 10% of the total number of employees will be able to use the option, but this should not exceed more than 10 people. To register a business trip, you will need to submit a corresponding application on the Diia portal (but no later than 7 days before the start of the business trip). Within 5 days from the moment the application is made, the entrepreneur must deposit UAH 200,000 as a deposit to his own escrow account at Oschadbank. This money will be returned after the person who was on a business trip returns to Ukraine. If the terms for the business trip are violated, the deposit will be transferred to the needs of the Ministry of Defense, the company will be closed to the reservation of employees, and those reservations that have already started will be canceled. The European Business Association welcomes the possibility of short-term trips abroad for businesses. After all, the driving force for economic recovery is a working business that thinks about further development, and pays taxes, wages and other obligations assumed. At the same time, sometimes not all export and import operations, investment business processes, etc. can be solved remotely. So, for example, setting up new logistics chains, searching for new sales and supply markets, launching new projects, the negotiation process, concluding certain contracts, etc. often require the personal involvement of management and specialized personnel of companies. Therefore, the community has been asking for an efficient and transparent procedure for short-term travel of business representatives abroad for quite a long time. Anna Derevyanko. EBA Executive Director. Surely, its practical side will be clear after the launch, and we will make updates on how everything is going. So, for example, however, it is still suggested to think about expanding the list of banks where the business can have accounts for the bail money. At the same time, it is good that entrepreneurs will have the possibility of traveling abroad. Therefore, I thank the Ministry of Economy for hearing the voice of business, meeting the needs of the professional community, and coming up with such a mechanism.
