Kyiv Post Becomes NewsGuard AI’s First Ukrainian Partner, Bringing Verified News Sources to AI

20/ 10/ 2026
Verified and reliable, even when powered by AI. Verified journalism from Ukraine is now available through NewsGuard’s AI service. Kyiv Post has become the first Ukrainian partner of NewsGuard AI, a service designed to work with news using verified sources, transparent citations, and a model that compensates publishers. NewsGuard AI offers a different model for working with news. It generates answers exclusively from 12,000 news and information sources vetted for reliability by NewsGuard journalists, provides links to sources in its answers, and compensates publishers whose content it uses. Leading global media outlets, including The New York Times, AFP, The Economist, and others, are increasingly defending their right to control how journalistic content is used in artificial intelligence systems. Chine Labbé, Senior Vice-President for Partnerships at NewsGuard: “We are delighted to welcome Kyiv Post as NewsGuard AI’s first co-marketing partner in Ukraine, and we hope it will be the first of many in the country. Reliable information about the Russia-Ukraine war has never been more essential, and since the beginning of the full-scale war, Ukrainian journalism has proven remarkably resilient, despite shrinking revenues and the daily challenges of operating in wartime. With NewsGuard AI, we are proud to offer readers a new way to access Kyiv Post’s reporting, while providing the newsroom with an additional source of revenue.” The partnership is particularly significant for Ukraine, which remains one of the main targets of Russian information operations. International audiences often rely on English-language sources to form their views on the war, security, sanctions, negotiations, and Ukraine’s future. “For Kyiv Post, this is more than a technology partnership. For Ukraine, it is also a matter of information security: Russian disinformation has long targeted not only people, but also the data ecosystems that AI systems use to learn and generate responses,” Bohdan Nahaylo, Chief Editor at Kyiv Post said. The service enables users to get answers to news-related queries with links to sources, check questionable claims, look up media reliability ratings, and receive personalized updates on international and local news. In 2023, NewsGuard — one of the world’s most respected rating systems for news and information websites — named Kyiv Post among the world’s leading sources of reliable journalism and awarded the publication its highest rating: 100%. Kyiv Post sees its partnership with NewsGuard AI as part of its broader work to support quality journalism, protect trust in the news, and expand international access to verified information about Ukraine.
