JTI Ukraine Supports Annual Japanese Culture Festival, Japanese Autumn

05/ 10/ 2026
The Japanese culture festival Japanese Autumn is traditionally held in Kyiv in early September. This year, the event took place from 4 to 6 September with the support of the Embassy of Japan and its long-standing partner, JTI Ukraine. The festival marked the 20th anniversary of the Ukrainian-Japanese Centre at Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, which has been introducing Ukrainians to Japan’s culture, traditions and contemporary life for many years. Japanese Autumn brings together people interested in Japanese culture, art and history, creating a space where they can experience the country’s traditions first-hand. The festival also serves as a platform for cultural dialogue between Ukraine and Japan. The participation of Japan’s newly appointed Ambassador to Ukraine, Yo Osumi, gave the event particular significance. At the official opening, guests were also welcomed by Andrii Fita, Finance Director at JTI Ukraine. The festival programme included the Thank You, Japan exhibition; the Sumo: Rikishi. Strength and Spirit exhibition; displays of traditional Japanese art, and workshops on calligraphy, ikebana, origami, and other cultural practices. By supporting the festival, JTI Ukraine continues its long-standing partnership with the Ukrainian-Japanese Centre and its support for initiatives that help foster mutual understanding and cultural ties between the two countries.
