EBA held a working meeting with representatives of the Japanese business community

18/ 03/ 2026
The Western Ukrainian Office of the European Business Association held a working meeting with representatives of JETRO: Mr. Shigeru Kono, Ukraine Business Advisor, and Tomohiro Yoden, Deputy Director General, JETRO Warsaw. The discussion focused on practical dimensions of strengthening Ukraine Japan economic cooperation, with particular attention to investment opportunities in Western Ukraine and the role of international institutions in supporting business amid ongoing economic transformation. We highlighted the region’s growing potential as a platform for manufacturing, localization, and business scaling. Western Ukraine is increasingly seen as a strategic entry point for international companies seeking resilience, skilled talent, and a reliable partnership environment. A key part of the conversation addressed what truly matters for investors today: clear and predictable regulations, transparent rules of engagement, and strong local partnerships that enable confident and timely decision making. Meetings like this go beyond dialogue. They help build trust, align expectations, and create the foundation for tangible cooperation. This is where future partnerships and investment decisions begin. We thank Mr. Tomohiro YODEN and Mr. Shigeru Kono for an open and substantive discussion and their strong interest in Ukraine’s potential. We continue working to turn this interest into real projects and long term partnerships.
