Baker McKenzie advises defence tech company on equity financing and SAFE investment rounds

  Baker McKenzie has advised a leading technology company that develops advanced laser-based solutions for defence and dual-use industrial manufacturing applications on a series of investment rounds involving a strategic investor, a major defence industry player, as well as European and US investment funds. The investments were structured through a combination of equity and SAFE (Simple Agreement for Future Equity) instruments.   Acting as lead legal counsel throughout the transaction, Baker McKenzie provided comprehensive legal support at every stage of the investment rounds, including transaction structuring, preparation of transaction documents, regulatory analysis, intellectual property matters, negotiation support, and coordination of legal advisers across multiple EU jurisdictions.   The Baker McKenzie team was led by Kyiv Corporate and M&A Associate Oleksandr Savvi, under the supervision of Partner Andrii Moskalyk. Associate Dmytro Skydan advised on intellectual property matters. Partner Lina Nemchenko had overall responsibility for the project.
