The “MADE IN ODESA” Forum brought together key stakeholders around the development of Southern Ukraine’s economy

21/ 05/ 2026
Business operations during wartime, key challenges, and joint solutions for the future became the central themes of the forum-exhibition “MADE IN ODESA,” held on May 19, 2026, and dedicated to the development of the economy of Ukraine’s southern frontline regions. This large-scale platform was initiated by the Odesa City Military Administration and brought together representatives of all levels of government, profile ministries, Parliament, international organizations, the diplomatic corps, business associations, regional manufacturing companies, and the expert community around the topics of Ukrainian production development, regional economic resilience, and Ukraine’s post-war recovery. The Southern Ukrainian Office of the EBA had the honor of supporting the event as a partner and joining together with EBA member companies involved in the development of the manufacturing sector to discuss practical solutions aimed at supporting businesses, strengthening enterprise resilience, and improving the regulatory environment in the region. During the opening session, participants emphasized that Odesa and the southern regions of Ukraine remain important centers of economic resilience. Despite the challenges of wartime, businesses continue production, exports, job creation, and support for the country’s economy. Special attention was also paid to the role of the maritime corridor, logistics development, and international partnership as key factors of business stability. A separate discussion block focused on the role of the state, local communities, and international cooperation in the development of the manufacturing sector. Participants discussed business support instruments, infrastructure development, investment attraction, production localization, war risk insurance, and the creation of a predictable business environment. An important part of the program included presentations by international donors regarding business support programs, where opportunities for grant financing, technical assistance, production modernization, and energy-efficiency improvements for enterprises were presented. During the thematic sessions, participants also addressed key challenges facing the manufacturing sector, including labor shortages, energy and logistics risks, access to financing, and regulatory barriers. The event featured a hybrid format combining a discussion platform and an exhibition of regional manufacturing enterprises, which became a practical continuation of the discussions and demonstrated the real potential of Odesa’s business community. As part of the exhibition, manufacturing companies from Odesa were presented, including EBA member companies such as InterChem, UKREKOPROM, and Drone Hub, which showcased their products, technological solutions, and approaches to production modernization, while also sharing practical experience in adapting business operations to wartime conditions, implementing innovations, and developing export directions. The “MADE IN ODESA” forum became a platform that combined strategic dialogue with a practical demonstration of the region’s manufacturing potential. The participation of the European Business Association highlighted the role of the business community in shaping solutions for economic development and supporting Ukrainian manufacturers.
