Cross-committee meeting with Oleksandr Lazuka: prospects and practical aspects of European integration

  The European Business Association held a cross-committee meeting with Oleksandr Lazuka, Coordinator of the interparliamentary group of Members of the European Parliament “Euro-Atlantic Ukraine” in Brussels and Adviser to the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights in the Kingdom of Belgium and at international institutions. The Association is registered in the European Commission’s Transparency Register and systematically engages with representatives of European institutions in Brussels, ensuring that the business community’s position is represented at the EU level. Participants therefore discussed the current engagement with European stakeholders and key issues on the European integration track. The discussion also covered the timelines for Ukraine’s accession to the European Union, the implementation of EU legislation into national law, and the EU’s approach to setting transitional periods for the introduction of new regulatory requirements. A significant part of the meeting was devoted to sector-specific issues. In particular, participants addressed CBAM and the need to strengthen communication with European partners on this matter. They also discussed challenges in the agricultural sector, including grain and oilseed markets, as well as in the veterinary industry. In addition, the meeting touched upon European integration issues in the payments sector and a broader range of industry-specific topics in the context of EU integration. Following the meeting, participants agreed to enhance business engagement in discussions on regulatory changes related to Ukraine’s EU integration at the level of European institutions.
