Industry event “Freight Forwarders Updates 2026: Logistics 2026 – Challenges and Solutions”

  March 18, 2026, in Odesa, the industry event “Freight Forwarders Updates 2026: Logistics 2026 – Challenges and Solutions” took place, organized by the ЕВА Southern Ukrainian Office in partnership with Association of International Freight Forwarders of Ukraine (AIFFU). The event brought together over 80 participants, including representatives of logistics companies, port operators, customs brokers, carriers, and industry experts. It served as a platform for discussing the key challenges facing the market in 2026, as well as practical solutions to address them. The focus was on changes in customs regulation, business adaptation to new requirements, risks of cargo loss or damage, supply chain disruptions, and proper documentation of such incidents. Particular attention was also given to force majeure circumstances, contractual liability, and mechanisms for out-of-court dispute resolution. During the panel discussions, experts shared practical case studies of operating under wartime conditions, addressed security challenges in ports, the resilience of logistics operations, and legal tools for risk mitigation in business activities. The event was moderated by Viktor Berestenko, President of AIFFU, who set the tone for the discussion and outlined the key issues facing the industry. As part of the panel discussion, speakers presented relevant topics and practical case studies: Robert Zeldi, Managing Partner at Delta International Law and customs expert, focused on the new Customs Code of Ukraine, EU integration, authorization procedures, NCTS, and business action plans for 2026. Valerii Shnurenko, Head of Corporate Security at the Risoil Group and Chairman of the  Corporate Security Working Group EBA Odesa, addressed business security in ports during wartime, operational continuity, and cargo protection. Anna Khokholkova, Head of the Foreign Economic Relations and Export Support Department at the Odesa Regional Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Natalia Yaremenko, Legal Counsel at the same institution and authorized officer for certifying force majeure circumstances, covered issues related to force majeure certification and export support. Natalia Gudkova, Founder of ADVISERS Arbitration & Business Consulting and legal partner of AIFFU, shared insights into negotiation practices and pre-trial settlement of complex logistics cases. Yuliia Bezdolia, Judge of the Commercial Court of Odesa Region, highlighted judicial practice in logistics disputes, typical risks, and approaches to minimizing business liability. “Freight Forwarders Updates 2026” once again confirmed the importance of open dialogue between business and the expert community and became another step toward building an efficient and resilient logistics sector in Ukraine.
