Online meeting of the Mediation Hub: how businesses can resolve disputes without losses

27/ 11/ 2025
On the Mediation Hub platform, moderated by Kateryna Prysyazhnyuk together with speaker Viktoriia Polishchuk, we discussed how businesses can resolve disputes without losses through alternative methods. The discussion focused on the legal aspects of mediation and its advantages for Ukrainian businesses, examining the role of this mechanism in peaceful dispute resolution and the development of more sustainable approaches to conflict management. Viktoriia Polishchuk outlined the current state of mediation in Ukraine and explained when businesses should initiate this process in case of disputes. The highest effectiveness of mediation is achieved at the early stages of a conflict, before the start of judicial or criminal proceedings. The importance of selecting the right mediator and aligning Ukrainian mediation practices with international standards was also emphasized. Special attention was given to the advantages of mediation, particularly its ability to address both business and personal dimensions of conflicts simultaneously. It was also highlighted that mediation today is an effective tool for quickly restoring communication and cooperation, especially during wartime. Ukrainian mediation practices are becoming increasingly flexible, enabling the resolution of logistical issues, contract disruptions, and strategic decisions. It is also important to note that mediation can be initiated both before and during court proceedings, as it is based on trust, voluntariness, and constructive dialogue between the parties.
