Global HR Solutions CEO Anastasiya Shevchenko’s Book “WAR. LIFE. BUSINESS.” Presented at the World’s Largest Book Fair — Frankfurt Book Fair 2025

07/ 11/ 2025
At the Frankfurt Book Fair 2025, among the most significant new titles showcased at the Ukrainian national stand, a unique publication stood out for its scale and impact — “WAR. LIFE. BUSINESS.” by Anastasiya Shevchenko, which brings together 20 powerful stories of Ukrainian and international companies that not only survived but continued to create the future of the country amid a full-scale war. This book is more than a collection of business cases — it is a deeply human and inspiring series of first-hand narratives told by business leaders about resilience, responsibility, and the ability to preserve and grow even when it seems impossible or life-threatening. The English-language edition of “WAR. LIFE. BUSINESS.” by Anastasiya Shevchenko was specially selected by the organizers for inclusion at the Ukrainian national stand, organized by the Ukrainian Book Institute with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Strategic Communications of Ukraine, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, and other partners. Symbolically, the book was presented to the international audience of the world’s largest publishing event — Frankfurter Buchmesse (www.buchmesse.de) — among the most notable English-language releases of the publishing houses Creative Agency “Artel” and Summit Book, by Yevhen Dubrovskyi, a war hero, military medic, and writer. “It is very important that ‘WAR. LIFE. BUSINESS.’ is among the titles representing Ukraine this year at the Frankfurt Book Fair 2025 — a key international platform where literature, cultural diplomacy, and national identity intersect,” said Anastasiya Shevchenko, author and CEO of Global HR Solutions. “I believe that the presentation of this book in Frankfurt is an international recognition that the story of Ukrainian business during wartime is part of a broader narrative — one about the unbreakable and undefeatable spirit of Ukraine, which is defending its rightful place in the modern world.” Working on the book, Shevchenko sought to show how Ukrainian companies not only survive under extreme wartime conditions but turn this devastating crisis into a driving force for growth. The book features real stories of entrepreneurs who lost offices, warehouses, and — most painfully — colleagues, yet managed to preserve their teams, rebuild logistics, restore exports, create and sustain jobs, support local communities, and assist the Armed Forces. Even amid destruction, these businesses continued to find creative, unconventional solutions, always putting thesafety and well-being of their people first. For international readers, “WAR. LIFE. BUSINESS.” offers a unique window into modern Ukraine — a country living and creating under the pressure of full-scale war. The book is not only about business, but also about the values that sustain the Ukrainian nation: dignity, mutual support, intelligence, and freedom. It is no coincidence that the Ukrainian stand in Frankfurt — where Shevchenko’s book was presented — attracted wide attention from publishers, journalists, and partners from all over the world. Today, Ukrainian business has become a symbol not only of endurance and resilience but also of a new European model of leadership, responsibility, and humanity. The focus theme of this year’s Ukrainian national stand at the Frankfurt Book Fair was “Filling In”, symbolizing Ukraine’s aspiration to fill the gaps on the European cultural and informational map, to foster deeper understanding and continued international support. In this sense, Shevchenko’s “WAR. LIFE. BUSINESS.” perfectly embodies the theme: it fills the knowledge gap about Ukraine and Ukrainians with living, emotional testimonies, real experiences, and authentic stories of people who continue to create life and business in the midst of a brutal full-scale war. Pre-orders for the English edition “War. Life. Business.” are available online.
