30/ 07/ 2025
Private JSC “UNIQA Life” has received an extension of its license to carry out direct insurance and inward reinsurance activities. The respective decision was made on July 25, 2025, by the Committee on Supervision and Regulation of Nonbank Financial Services Markets of the National Bank of Ukraine. According to the updated license, UNIQA Life is now authorized to operate under the following insurance classes: • Class 1 – accident insurance (including coverage for occupational injuries and occupational diseases); • Class 2 – health insurance (including medical insurance). As of the first quarter of 2025, 56% of UNIQA’s insurance portfolio was formed by other risk insurance, while 44% consisted of traditional life savings insurance. During the reporting period, the company collected UAH 85.3 million in insurance premiums, and its insurance reserves amounted to over UAH 1 billion. UNIQA also recorded a significant increase in insurance payouts: in Q1 2025, total payouts grew by 168%compared to the same period last year. Notably, 89% of these payments were made under traditional life insurance policies. Surrender payments amounted to UAH 5.1 million, which is 47% less than in the first quarter of 2024. UNIQA remains committed to strengthening its presence in the Ukrainian insurance market, expanding opportunities for clients, and providing reliable financial protection in all life situations.
