UNIQA Ukraine Leads in Motor Third-Party Liability Insurance Payout Speed in the First Half of 2025

16/ 07/ 2025
  According to official data from the Motor (Transport) Insurance Bureau of Ukraine (MTIBU), UNIQA Ukraine has once again topped the ranking of Ukrainian insurance companies for the second quarter in a row based on the speed of insurance compensation payments under the mandatory Motor Third-Party Liability Insurance (MTPL) system. This means that individuals involved in road traffic accidents (RTAs) with a UNIQA-insured driver receive compensation for damaged property faster than with any other company in the market. Moreover, a significant advantage is the option for direct settlement. If you are insured under an MTPL policy with UNIQA and are the injured party in a traffic accident, you can receive compensation directly from UNIQA, without having to contact the insurer of the at-fault party. This achievement is not a coincidence. It reflects the company’s systematic, client-oriented approach, optimization of internal processes, and active implementation of digital solutions. Why Does Payout Speed Matter? In modern insurance, payout speed is not just a mark of service quality — it’s real support for clients in critical situations. A traffic accident is always stressful and can have serious consequences for both property and personal health. Fast payouts: allow for quick vehicle repair; reduce financial strain — no need to search for additional funds; build trust in the insurer and prove that insurance truly works. Even a few days of delay can disrupt personal or business plans, affect quality of life, or cause financial losses. That’s why speed has become the new standard for quality in insurance services. “For us, payout speed is a fundamental quality standard in insurance services. MTPL is quite a complex product, as it requires determining the party at fault before compensation can be paid. An important aspect is establishing ownership rights, since compensation can only be paid to the owner of the damaged property. So when building our claims settlement processes, we consider these limitations and aim to obtain the necessary information for decision-making from various sources as early as possible. What helps us maintain such high standards is our use of the most advanced global business practices and our critical stance toward bureaucracy and any operations that bring no value to the customer,” — Olha Zurabishvili, Head of Customer Support for Property Insurance at UNIQA. More and more customers today pay attention not only to the cost of the policy but also to the insurer’s reliability, predictability, and service level. Speed and payout guarantees are gradually becoming the key factors when choosing an insurance company. While previously MTPL policies were often purchased only because they were mandatory, today it’s a conscious choice for personal financial protection. Even the most experienced driver is not immune to the actions of other road users. Thanks to direct settlement, available to policyholders in 2025, the injured party can now choose which company to receive compensation from.

Why Does Payout Speed Matter?

In modern insurance, payout speed is not just a mark of service quality — it’s real support for clients in critical situations. A traffic accident is always stressful and can have serious consequences for both property and personal health.

Fast payouts:

  • allow for quick vehicle repair;
  • reduce financial strain — no need to search for additional funds;
  • build trust in the insurer and prove that insurance truly works.

Even a few days of delay can disrupt personal or business plans, affect quality of life, or cause financial losses. That’s why speed has become the new standard for quality in insurance services.
