Dentons advises REWE Group on a landmark transaction in the retail sector of Ukraine

  September 18, 2020 Kyiv – Global law firm Dentons advised REWE Group on the sale of its Billa supermarket chain in Ukraine to UAB Consul Trade House, the owner of Novus Ukraine – one of the leading Ukrainian food retailers. The transaction is subject to approval of the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine.  Billa was the first international food retailer to open in Kyiv in February 2000, and has since grown into a network of 35 supermarkets in Kyiv, Kyiv region and Zhytomyr.  Partners Adam Mycyk and Oleg Batyuk together with Counsel Anna Tkachenko led the transaction with significant support from Counsel Oksana Horban, Senior Associates Natalia Levchuk, Roman Mehedynyuk, and Oksana Franko, Tax Advisor Valeria Tarasenko, and Associates Oleksandra Piskun and Viktor Marchan.
