The question is what to do about it? <\/p>\n<p>EBA Management Development Centre Team, together with <strong>Victoria Spashchenko<\/strong>, are launching a new <strong>Online Development Program: Management and Communication in Cross-Cultural and Multicultural Teams. Practicum. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This practicum helps participants view intercultural communication not only as an exchange of information, but as an interaction between different ways of thinking. What you need to know about yourself and others to communicate confidently in a global environment <\/b><b>\u2014 08.09.2026<\/b>   <\/p>\n<p>Knowing a foreign language does not guarantee barrier\u2011free communication with colleagues, clients, partners, or friends from other countries. We may speak the same language and still face misunderstandings because we have individual \u201cdefault settings\u201d that shape our communication style, our ideas of what a \u201cgood\/useful\u201d meeting is, our expectations, ways of conveying and receiving information, and interpretations of the same situations.<\/p>\n<p>We know we are all different. In this  module, we will talk about <i>how<\/i> we differ and how to find common ground, as well as how to develop flexibility to interact confidently and effectively in international environments.<\/p>\n<p><b>Module 2. <\/b><b>International negotiations and presentations<\/b><b> \u2014 10.09.2026<\/b>    <\/p>\n<p>Our proposals may offer \u201cthe best prices\u201d and top quality, include strong technical expertise and still be rejected. Our business presentations may be \u201cperfectly\u201d prepared yet fail to succeed. Often, the issue is not the content itself but the way it is delivered and the cultural specifics of negotiation styles.<\/p>\n<p>In this module we:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>discuss building trusting business relationships.<\/li>\n<li>explore how different cultures perceive arguments, structure, directness, emotionality, and communication pace. <\/li>\n<li>reflect on why the same presentation may sound convincing to some and \u201cunfinished\u201d or overly aggressive to others. <\/li>\n<li>We also practice adapting messages and negotiation strategies to make the most of international collaboration.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Module 3. <\/b><b>Working in cross<\/b>\u2011<b>cultural and multicultural (project) teams<\/b><b> \u2014 16.09.2026<\/b>    <\/p>\n<p>Many of us work in cross\u2011cultural and multicultural teams. Cultural diversity can bring significant advantages: synergy, enhanced creativity, improved decision\u2011making, and greater ability to handle complex tasks.<\/p>\n<p>But it also creates challenges: different expectations regarding communication styles, role distribution, work pace, decision\u2011making approaches, time use and deadlines, feedback practices, and conflict resolution.<\/p>\n<p>In this module, we discuss:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>what makes a multicultural team effective.<\/li>\n<li>how to build trust.<\/li>\n<li>align expectations.<\/li>\n<li>set boundaries.<\/li>\n<li>define roles and responsibilities.<\/li>\n<li>coordinate efforts, and make decisions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Module 4. <\/b><b>Communication in cross<\/b>\u2011<b>cultural and multicultural (project) teams<\/b><b> \u2014 17.09.2026<\/b>     <\/p>\n<p>Our communication within a team is culturally shaped.
