The meeting focused on the key challenges facing the port sector and potential areas of cooperation between businesses and the Ministry to address them.<\/p>\n<p>In particular, the participants discussed the <strong>Procedure for Compensating Investments in Port Infrastructure Facilities<\/strong>. Business and Ministry representatives focused on the next steps for joint work on this issue, which is important for the development and recovery of Ukraine\u2019s ports.<\/p>\n<p>Particular attention was paid to the practical aspects of implementing the recently adopted resolution on <strong>shipping insurance<\/strong>. The discussion covered the funding allocated in the state budget and the involvement of insurance companies in operating the relevant mechanism.<\/p>\n<p>The participants also considered <strong>construction on water fund lands<\/strong> and proposed amendments developed by EBA experts. For businesses, it is important to establish clear conditions for implementing infrastructure projects and address issues that hinder their delivery.<\/p>\n<p>The meeting also covered <strong>support for port operators during the war<\/strong>, including reducing the burden of rental payments. The Association previously <a href=\"https:\/\/eba.com.ua\/en\/eva-zaklykaye-povernuty-pilgovyj-mehanizm-orendy-dlya-portovoyi-infrastruktury-velykoyi-odesy\/\">called on the Government and relevant authorities to reinstate preferential rental arrangements for the port infrastructure of Greater Odesa<\/a> for the period during which it remains effectively blocked due to Russian attacks. Such support would help operators retain staff and keep infrastructure ready for operation.<\/p>\n<p>The participants also discussed the need to ensure the <strong>stable operation of the Danube Corridor<\/strong> and clarify the <strong>legal status of destroyed containers<\/strong>, particularly those currently located in ports that have not yet cleared customs.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, attention was given to the operation of the <strong>\u2018maritime window\u2019<\/strong> and coordinated cooperation among all parties involved in the transport chain. For businesses, streamlined procedures and predictable logistics processes are essential.<\/p>\n<p>The European Business Association thanks Anatolii Timenko for the meeting and for discussing issues of current concern to businesses.
