On 8 September, the European Business Association held a meeting with Denys Maslov<\/strong>, Minister of Justice of Ukraine, and the Ministry\u2019s team. The meeting focused on the Ministry\u2019s main areas of work, the protection of business and investor rights, the digitalisation of public services, European integration, as well as practical issues companies face when interacting with public authorities. The Minister noted that, despite the challenges posed by the war, the Ministry continues to work on systemic reforms and improving public services.<\/p>\nOne of the priorities remains digitalisation and the protection of state registers<\/strong>. The Ministry is responsible for the operation of critical registers that underpin not only the provision of public services but also business activities, including property registration, access to financing and the conduct of business transactions. The Ministry also plans to expand digital services for Ukrainians living abroad and make them easier to access.<\/p>\n Particular attention was paid to the protection of business rights and predictability in law enforcement<\/strong>. Businesses stressed the importance of consistent application of legislation, protection of property and corporate rights, and transparent operations of the Anti-Raiding Office. Denys Maslov noted that the Ministry is interested in receiving systematic feedback from the business community and is ready to work jointly on improving the relevant mechanisms.<\/p>\n The participants also discussed access to information in state registers and the protection of sensitive data<\/strong>. In particular, the discussion covered companies operating in the defence sector and the need to strike a balance between the openness of registers, business needs and security considerations. The Ministry noted that certain mechanisms for restricting access are already in place. The participants also raised issues related to the disclosure of information on ultimate beneficial owners and the difficulties faced by companies with complex ownership structures.<\/p>\n Another area of discussion was European integration<\/strong>. The Ministry confirmed its readiness to continue cooperation with the business community in drafting legislation and improving the regulatory framework. Ministry representatives emphasised that consolidated business proposals help assess how new measures work in practice and, where necessary, make the required adjustments. The Ministry is also involved in implementing tasks related to aligning Ukrainian legislation with EU law.<\/p>\n During the meeting, businesses also raised practical issues related to administrative procedures, operating during air-raid alerts and forensic examinations. Companies highlighted specific problems with the application of administrative procedure legislation, instances where permitting processes had been blocked, insufficient time for employees to evacuate when the threat level changes, and limited availability of certain types of forensic examinations. The Ministry expressed its readiness to address these issues jointly with the business community.<\/p>\n Following the meeting, the Association and the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine agreed to continue regular dialogue on law enforcement, administrative procedures, digitalisation and European integration.<\/p>\n The Association will continue to collect and consolidate practical proposals from companies in order to work with the Ministry on solutions that would make the regulatory environment clearer and more predictable for businesses.<\/p>\n <\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" On 8 September, the European Business Association held a meeting with Denys Maslov, Minister of Justice of Ukraine, and the Ministry\u2019s team.
