The European Business Association welcomes the Verkhovna Rada\u2019s adoption of the law ratifying the Free Trade Agreement between the Government of Ukraine and the Government of the Republic of T\u00fcrkiye. This marks an important step towards deepening trade and economic cooperation between the two countries and creating new opportunities for Ukrainian businesses.<\/p>\n
The Association believes that the implementation of the Agreement will expand access for Ukrainian goods and services to the Turkish market, boost exports, and attract investment. Trade liberalisation will create additional opportunities for business development, industrial modernisation, and enhanced competitiveness of Ukrainian companies.<\/p>\n
Once the Agreement enters into force, the vast majority of Ukrainian goods will benefit from duty-free access to the Turkish market<\/strong>. For certain sensitive product categories, tariff quotas or transitional arrangements will apply to ensure the gradual adjustment of the market.<\/p>\n Moreover, the ratification of the Agreement is of strategic importance in the context of Ukraine\u2019s European integration<\/strong>. Strengthening trade relations with key partners, aligning with modern international trade rules, and fostering a competitive business environment are essential elements of preparing Ukraine\u2019s economy for full membership in the European Union.<\/p>\n Following the Agreement\u2019s entry into force, the Pan-Euro-Mediterranean (PEM) Convention cumulation matrix will be updated.
