That is why we would like to share one of our recently completed and very interesting projects – the \u201cTvoia Techiya\u201d wellness and relaxation center in the city of Pustomyty, Lviv Oblast.<\/p>\n
How does a heat recovery unit work, and why is it increasingly used in modern construction?<\/strong><\/p>\n The PRANA heat recovery unit is a modern supply and exhaust ventilation system with heat recovery, boasting an efficiency of up to 98%. The system works by simultaneously bringing in fresh air from outside and removing stale air from the room. The heat exchange process takes place inside a copper heat exchanger. As is well known, copper has one of the highest thermal conductivity rates among materials, ensuring efficient transfer of thermal energy between air streams without mixing them.<\/p>\n Thus, the room maintains a constant, full-fledged, and controlled air exchange without the need to open windows.<\/p>\n Today, most modern buildings are constructed to be completely airtight: plastic windows, insulated facades, airtight doors, and so on. On the one hand, this minimizes heat loss; on the other hand, it significantly restricts natural air exchange. As a result, carbon dioxide accumulates indoors, creating a stuffy atmosphere and leading to other related problems associated with poor or lack of ventilation. The PRANA heat recovery unit is designed specifically to address these issues.<\/p>\n Even during the design phase of the \u201cTvoia Techiya\u201d wellness and relaxation center, one of the owner\u2019s top priorities was ensuring constant access to fresh air and a comfortable indoor climate in every room. After all, this is a place where people come to relax, recharge, and improve their well-being.<\/p>\n At this facility, our specialists installed seven PRANA residential heat recovery units in rooms serving various purposes.<\/p>\n One of the key areas of this facility is the swimming pool, where swimming lessons for children are held regularly. A common and widespread problem in such spaces is high humidity and condensation on surfaces, and since a large number of people are in the room at the same time during classes, the feeling of stuffiness sets in very quickly. In addition, various disinfectants and chemicals are often used in the water, which can negatively affect air quality.<\/p>\n During the ventilation design phase, PRANA specialists considered two possible solutions for this facility: installing a centralized ventilation system or using a decentralized ventilation system, specifically PRANA residential heat recovery units. Since the owner had indicated at the very beginning of the project that they planned to use ventilation in combination with a dehumidifier, the decision was made to install three PRANA 200S residential heat recovery units. In this case, the ventilation system and the dehumidifier work in tandem. The dehumidifier maintains optimal humidity levels, while the heat recovery units ensure a continuous supply of fresh air and remove stale air.<\/p>\n The next, and perhaps most interesting, room at this facility is the salt room, where we installed a PRANA 150. People often visit salt rooms to improve respiratory function and relax the body. So, to ensure visitors can breathe even more freely during their relaxation\u2014without stale air or excessive humidity\u2014the owner chose a heat recovery unit.<\/p>\n We also installed a PRANA 150 heat recovery unit in the changing room, reception area, and massage room. It is important to maintain a stable indoor climate in each of these rooms: in the reception area to ensure a comfortable environment for visitors and staff; in the changing room to prevent the buildup of unpleasant odors; and in the massage room to create a comfortable atmosphere for relaxation.<\/p>\n Since several heat recovery units have been installed in different functional areas of the facility, all systems can be controlled via the convenient PRANA online 2.0 mobile app\u2014selecting the unit\u2019s operating power, setting up personalized ventilation schedules, monitoring air quality metrics, and more.<\/p>\n![\"\"](\"https:\/\/eba.com.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/EBA-Realizovani-obyekty-PRANA-754-2.png\")
