The initiative brings together CPP manufacturers, farmers and licensed waste management operators, enabling the safe disposal of used containers without harming the environment.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">How Farmers Can Dispose of Containers Free of Charge<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">To hand over empty containers for recycling, farmers should:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">collect and store empty crop protection product containers in appropriate condition;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">submit a request through the Agro Varta online platform;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">coordinate collection logistics;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">hand over the containers to a licensed operator during an organised collection.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">The online platform coordinates every stage of the process \u2013 from submitting a request to transportation and delivery for recycling \u2013 making it transparent and convenient for farmers.<\/span><\/p>\n<p data-section-id=\"1d8gx\" data-start=\"1041\" data-end=\"1063\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">What Is Agro Varta?<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Agro Varta is an online platform established on the initiative of the European Business Association to manage empty crop protection product containers, ensuring their collection, transportation and subsequent recycling in line with environmental requirements.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">The project is supported by leading international crop protection companies, including <strong data-start=\"1413\" data-end=\"1469\">ADAMA Ukraine, Bayer, BASF, FMC Ukraine and Syngenta<\/strong>. These companies contribute to the development of an organised collection system and promote environmentally responsible practices across the agricultural sector.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">The dedicated online platform enables participants to:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">submit collection requests;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">coordinate collection logistics;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">facilitate communication between stakeholders;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">improve transparency across all waste management processes.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">All operations are carried out through licensed operators authorised to handle hazardous waste and ensure its safe recycling.<\/span><\/p>\n<p data-section-id=\"1224e1i\" data-start=\"1994\" data-end=\"2011\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Why It Matters<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Empty crop protection product containers are classified as potentially hazardous waste because they may contain residues of chemical substances. Improper storage, burning or reuse of such containers poses risks to soil, water resources, wildlife and human health.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">An organised collection system helps minimise these risks while promoting responsible waste management practices throughout the agricultural sector.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">The project also contributes to greater transparency within the crop protection products market by reducing the circulation of counterfeit products, whose packaging is often difficult to trace and dispose of properly.<\/span><\/p>\n<p data-section-id=\"1ea6pyb\" data-start=\"2647\" data-end=\"2676\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Project Results and Impact<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Since its launch, Agro Varta has facilitated the recycling of thousands of tonnes of plastic crop protection product containers. This has significantly reduced environmental pressure and helped establish responsible waste management practices within the agricultural sector.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Each year, thousands of such containers are generated by the agricultural industry, and the number of farmers participating in the organised collection system continues to grow.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">As Ukrainian legislation increasingly aligns with European environmental standards, proper management of hazardous waste is becoming an essential component of responsible agricultural business practices.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">The project organisers encourage farmers not to accumulate used containers in warehouses or fields and to avoid uncontrolled disposal methods.
