On 29 May, the European Business Association held a general meeting with Taras Kachka, Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine<\/strong>. The discussion focused on Ukraine\u2019s EU accession negotiations, regulatory changes required for integration into the EU single market, and other issues of concern to businesses in the context of adapting to European rules and standards.<\/p>\n During the meeting, Taras Kachka outlined the Government\u2019s priorities for the next 12\u201318 months. Ukrainian businesses are expected to gradually experience changes in the areas of market surveillance, supply chain control in the agricultural sector, climate policy, customs regulation, and labour legislation. At the same time, Ukraine aims to accelerate the harmonisation of its regulatory framework as much as possible, given that EU accession remains one of the country\u2019s key priorities.<\/p>\n Particular attention was paid to the mechanisms of cooperation between the state and business during the implementation of European regulations. The Deputy Prime Minister assured participants that consultations with the business community would remain an important part of the decision-making process.<\/p>\n Speaking about Ukraine\u2019s prospects for joining the European Union, Taras Kachka stressed that the country aims to complete the implementation of the necessary European regulations by the end of 2027. One of the key objectives is the actual integration into the EU single market even before the formal completion of the accession process.<\/p>\n Another important topic discussed during the meeting was the negotiations on concluding the ACAA Agreement (\u201cindustrial visa-free regime\u201d). Preparations for the launch of formal negotiations are currently underway, and therefore 2026 could realistically become the year when this process is completed.<\/p>\n Business representatives also raised the issue of financing the NCEC. The Government confirmed the importance of ensuring the regulator\u2019s financial independence in line with European approaches and called on the industry to provide additional proposals regarding possible financing models. For its part, the Association will consolidate the position of market participants and submit it to the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister.<\/p>\n A separate part of the discussion was devoted to the impact of the CBAM mechanism on Ukrainian exporters. Taras Kachka noted that Ukraine plans in the near future to move towards a comprehensive resolution of issues related to the use of actual emissions data, which is critically important for maintaining access of Ukrainian products to the EU market.<\/p>\n The participants also discussed challenges related to the implementation of the technical regulation on cosmetic products. Representatives of the business community highlighted the risks associated with the tight timeframe for adapting to the new requirements.<\/p>\n The Association expresses its gratitude to Taras Kachka for the meaningful discussion and openness to dialogue with the business community.
