Within the framework of the European Union project \u201cForming Common Pathways for Regional Development and Strengthening Administrative Capacity for the Implementation of EU Cohesion Policy in Ukraine and Moldova\u201d (EUroBRIDGE_UA_MD), Kateryna Morozova,\u00a0the\u00a0Head of the Southern Ukrainian Office of the European Business Association, joined the Project Monitoring Committee \u2014 a key governance body responsible for strategic oversight, coordination, and effective implementation of the initiative aimed at strengthening cross-border and cross-sectoral cooperation for the implementation of EU cohesion policy in Ukraine and Moldova.\u00a0<\/p>\n

On 28 April 2026, the first meeting of the EUroBRIDGE_UA_MD Monitoring Committee was held in Cluj-Napoca, Romania. The event was organized by the project consortium, consisting of the\u00a0Regional Development Agency of Odesa Region<\/a>\u00a0(Ukraine), the\u00a0Municipal Center for Entrepreneurship Development of Moldova<\/a>\u00a0(Centrul Municipal pentru Dezvoltarea Antreprenoriatului), and \u201cHygia<\/a>\u201d Agency (Romania), which also serves as the main event organizer and the Secretariat of the Monitoring Committee.\u00a0<\/p>\n

For structured project governance and monitoring, the General Assembly of the Monitoring Committee brought together 18 delegates representing public authorities, regional development agencies, the business community, academic institutions, and civil society organizations from Ukraine and Moldova, creating an effective platform for experience exchange and strengthened cross-sectoral cooperation.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Ukrainian delegation included representatives of the Secretariat of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine (Department for Coordination of International Technical Assistance<\/a>),\u00a0Chernihiv Regional Military Administration<\/a>,\u00a0the Regional Development Agencies of Khmelnytsky<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Vinnytsia regions<\/a>, the Khmelnytsky Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Euroregion \u201cDniester\u201d NGO<\/a>,\u00a0Odesa National Economic University<\/a>, as well as the European Business Association.\u00a0<\/p>\n

During the first meeting, members of the Monitoring Committee approved the Rules of Procedures, including key principles and selection criteria for two planned grant schemes, were introduced to the evaluation and selection methodology for the \u201cImpact Networks\u201d grant competition, and reviewed the communication plan and project activities, along with examples of best practices in cross-border cooperation.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The discussion also included an online contribution from the European Commission representative Jozef Mich\u00e1lek (DG REGIO), who emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation between Ukraine and Moldova, noting that EUroBRIDGE_UA_MD is the first initiative of its kind connecting two EU candidate countries.\u00a0<\/p>\n

As part of the working visit (27\u201329 April 2026), participants also took part in study visits aimed at exploring best European practices in regional development and EU cohesion policy implementation. On 27 April, sessions were held with the North-West Regional Development Agency (ADR Nord-Vest<\/a>), where participants learned about EU funds management mechanisms, community and business support tools, territorial development approaches, and the functioning of steering committees within EU programs. A dedicated session at the\u00a0Technical University of Cluj-Napoca<\/a>\u00a0focused on the role of universities in innovation-driven economic development and international research cooperation.\u00a0<\/p>\n

On 29 April, the delegation visited Smart Transylvania \u2014 a regional platform uniting key clusters of Northwestern Transylvania to achieve shared strategic goals and address regional challenges. Meetings were also held with representatives of the Cluj-Napoca City Hall (Prim\u0103ria Cluj-Napoca<\/a>), focusing on financial governance, infrastructure modernization, and fostering a business-friendly environment.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Participation in the Monitoring Committee and accompanying international activities within EUroBRIDGE opens new opportunities for experience exchange, partnership development, and the integration of the Ukrainian business community into European regional development processes.\u00a0We sincerely thank the partners of the EUroBRIDGE project and all participants for their productive cooperation, open dialogue, and joint efforts toward the development of cross-border cooperation.\u00a0<\/p>\n
