\"\"On 17 March, Mariia Kobiz, Coordinator of the Chemical Safety Subcommittee within the Industrial Ecology and Sustainable Development Committee of the European Business Association, took part in the Coatings-UA forum. The event brought together representatives of businesses and \u043f\u0440\u043e\u0444\u0438\u043b\u044c industry associations from across Ukraine.<\/p>\n

The panel discussion on chemical safety, in which Mariia participated, focused on the content and harmonisation of the Technical Regulation on the Safety of Chemical Products and the Technical Regulation on Classification, Labelling and Packaging of Chemical Products. The Association\u2019s Subcommittee Coordinator shared case studies and practical insights gained from member companies\u2019 experience in undergoing registration procedures. Particular attention was paid to the development of the necessary guidelines and helpdesks for the regulations, as well as to the functioning of joint working groups recently announced by the Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture.<\/p>\n

Participants of the session emphasised that in Ukraine \u2014 unlike in comparable European practice \u2014 industry associations and sector-specific organisations play a significant role in shaping proposed amendments and providing feedback on regulatory documents. The Chemical Safety Subcommittee remains committed to productive cooperation with the regulator and other stakeholders within the framework of these working groups and will actively contribute proposals to facilitate businesses\u2019 transition to the new standards.<\/p>\n
