On 25 February, representatives of the Industrial Ecology and Sustainable Development Committee and the Chemical Safety Subcommittee of the European Business Association<\/span><\/span> held a working meeting with Oleksandr Krasnolutskyi<\/span><\/span>, Deputy Minister of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine. The meeting focused on current issues in the areas of waste management and chemical safety.<\/p>\n In particular, participants concentrated on the timeline for launching key modules of the unified environmental platform \u201cEcoSystem\u201d, namely: the functionality for ceasing waste status, reclassifying waste as by-products, and the potential expansion of the waste list. Special attention was given to the need to postpone the requirement for mining companies to obtain waste treatment permits, given the tight deadlines and the necessity to undergo the environmental impact assessment procedure.<\/p>\n Participants also emphasised the lack of clear rules for completing applications for waste treatment permits and highlighted the need to develop methodological guidance for businesses.
