On 12 December<\/strong>, the European Business Association held its annual sectoral event, Infrastructure Day<\/strong>, to discuss the impact of the war on transport infrastructure, current industry challenges, and initiatives aimed at developing the transport and logistics market.<\/p>\n

As this year marked the tenth edition of the event organised by the EBA, a significant part of the discussions focused on the development dynamics of the transport sector over the past decade.<\/p>\n

During the event, the results of the expert survey conducted by the EBA Logistics Committee \u2014 the Infrastructure Index<\/a> \u2014 were presented. According to survey participants, the key achievements in the transport sector over the past 10 years include digitalisation, the \u201ctransport visa-free regime\u201d, adoption of the Law on Inland Water Transport, the \u201cLarge Construction\u201d programme, and other initiatives. At the same time, the main failures identified were the inefficiency of Ukrzaliznytsia, regulatory policy and bureaucracy, the activities of monopolies, and shortcomings in governance.\"\"Participants in the panel discussion \u201cUkraine\u2019s Transport Sector Over the Past 10 Years: A Strategic Vision for Future Development<\/strong>\u201d discussed the sector\u2019s transformation in the context of European integration, key reforms and changes, including the digitalisation of services and future plans, as well as security and energy risks, the state of the railway sector and the reform of Ukrzaliznytsia, prospects for increasing rail freight tariffs, the situation in ports and maritime transport, and the protection and restoration of infrastructure facilities.<\/p>\n
